Knitwear sounds like something the youthful generation shouldn’t be wearing today, something reserved for Grandads in rocking chairs, but times have changed, and knitwear is some of the hottest pieces on the catwalk. Cardigans, waistcoats, vests and jumpers have all been paraded down the runways, and now it’s your turn to have a go.
Greys, browns and blacks are all good for the workplace and some knitwear in these colours can keep your office-wear professional with a modern twist. Try the Jacamo grey cardigan (£18) or the Fenchurch Cree knitted waistcoat (£30) over a white shirt for some office style.
If you want to inject some colour into your knitwear wardrobe, you’re in luck - there are cardigans available in a range of fresh colours this season. Topman have some great colours – try the Turquoise cardigan (£18) for a bright look. Or for some patterns, try John Smedley’s Ferring Cardigan (£135) or the red stripes of Wrighty by Luke (£75).
The weekends are for experimenting, so try something outrageous and loud! Be bold in colour and design in the Peter Werth knit jumper (£34.99) or Diesel’s Kagiva (£75), or be funky in the Gio Goi striped hoodie (£45). Loads of knitwear at the moment has great detailing, like the All Saints double layered granddad top (£80) or the Burton dip dye jumper (£20), so try to get some of those into your knitwear look.
