Levi Strauss 135 Years of Denim
To celebrate its 135th birthday, Levi’s has taken a look back at its heritage and launched the Levi’s Product with Roots line. This is a capsule collection of limited edition pieces inspired by the old classics but with a contemporary edge. If you can get your hands on a piece, you won’t be disappointed and you’ll own something a collector would be proud of. The collection features subtle changes to some of Levi’s most popular denim products to keep their vintage quality but also bring them up to date. A slight change to the fit or fabric has brought these 60s rebellious American teenager inspired pieces into the 21st century. Think ‘Rebel without a Cause’ and ‘Easy Rider’, with key pieces including two iconic jackets – the Sherpa and the 1967 Type III in slim fit leather, and Levi’s most famous zip fly jean – the 505. For denim enthusiasts, the return of the 1947 501 Shrink-to-Fit jeans should be a pleasant surprise. To complete the Levi’s 1960s look, there are vintage inspired Sawtooth Western shirts and graphic T-shirts with rebellious prints. The whole collection has that defiant teenager and rock n’ roll spirit that Levi’s is best known for. Available exclusively from Levi’s stores, Selfridges, Urban Outfitters and other independent stockists while stock lasts, you’d better hurry if you want a piece of the Levi’s Limited Edition Product With Roots Cake.
